Mike
Emery started as the Digital Projects Specialist in Special
Collections in December, and he is currently pursuing an M.L.I.S.
from San Jose State University. Mike will be digitizing Special
Collections materials to provide online access to collections and
create online exhibits. Mike has a wide range of experience, including
teaching English in the Peace Corps in Morocco, teaching computers
at New Horizons Computer Learning Centers in Colorado, and teaching
computer classes as part of a Welfare-to-Work program for teen parents.
Mike holds an M.A. in English Literature and a B.A. in Cultural
Studies.
Joel
Lopez joined Information Technology as the User Support Specialist
in December. Prior to coming to the Libraries, he was Advisor to
the Digital Media Graduate Program at the Art Center College of
Design in Pasadena.
Julianna
Rees recently joined the staff at Denison Library as the new
Library Assistant. Her responsibilities include a wide variety of
secretarial, administrative, and library support activities. Juli
moved to West Covina this fall to be closer to Southwestern Law
School, where her husband attends school. She received her bachelor's
degree in Humanities from Brigham Young University. After graduating
there, she worked for a few years as the Standing Order Supervisor
at the BYU library. Before coming to Claremont, she had been working
at the University of Redlands as a library assistant.
