The Claremont School of Theology Library

This Library contains the major collections for instruction and research at The School of Theology and for the Religion Department at The Claremont Graduate University. The 170,000 volume collection includes materials on the broad scope of the study of religion and is strong in the subject areas of biblical studies, theology, philosophy of religion and hymnology. The collection also contains works in the history of Christianity, pastoral care and religious education. During the semester, the Library is open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden Library

This library, affiliated with the Claremont Graduate School Department of Botany, is used by graduate students and faculty as well as by garden staff and outside researchers. This research collection consists of about 40,000 non- circulating volumes and 600 periodical subscriptions in the fields of botany and horticulture, specifically the following subjects: systematic and evolutionary botany, California botany, geology and zoology in supporting areas, scholarly horticulture publications relating to California and the southwestern United States, materials relating to drought- resistant plants and landscaping for water conservation, ethnobotany, use of herbs and other "economic" plants.

Publications from Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin America and Australia are collected. Special collections include examples of fine botanical works and natural history, numerous first editions on California history, California topographical maps and a large collection of nursery catalogs from the nineteenth century. Hours for the library are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Stone Library

The Stone Center is a division of The Claremont Graduate School's Center for Developmental Studies in Education and contains materials on education and children's literature. This library houses approximately 24,000 volumes. Hours for the Stone Center are limited. For information, call (909) 607-3670 (on-campus, ext. 73670).
