GIS at the Libraries of the Claremont Colleges

GIS support at the Libraries of the Claremont Colleges support and facilitate the integration of geospatial technology (GIS) within the Claremont Colleges.  The library recognizes the increase of GIS interest is growing within various locations at the colleges, the Library is providing the following GIS services and access to spatial data.

GIS services include: 

• Presentations, workshops and instruction on using GIS for faculty, students and staff at The Colleges
• Data Mining & processing
• Identification, acquisition, and access to digital geospatial and statistical data for use in GIS
• Assistance in determining data needs
• Assistance with locating the data to suit those needs
• Sharing online course resources including enrollment in free ESRI Virtual Campus courses
• Distribution of ArcView software for faculty and staff under ESRI’s Campuswide Site License
• Provision of 1 year software licenses to students
