    ABC Pol Sci SEE Political Science Abstracts

    FBIS (Foreign Broadcast Information Service): FBIS Daily Reports are English-language translations of foreign radio and television broadcasts, news agency transmissions, newpaper articles, periodical articles, and government statements and dignitary speeches from around the world. [This resource is available only to users within the Libraries.]

    Government Periodicals Index: The U.S. Government Periodicals Index (USGPI) contains bibliographic records for articles from periodicals published by agencies of the U.S. Government. Coverage is from 1994-current. USGPI provides indexing to periodicals issued by federal departments and agencies that contain authored articles presenting research results, discussions of programs or policies, or materials of general interest value. [This resource is available only to users within the Libraries.]

    PAIS International (Public Affairs Information Service): Indexes articles, books, conference proceedings, government documents, book chapters, and statistical directories about public affairs. [Ovid: 1972-present; updated monthly. This resource is available outside the Libraries only to students, faculty and staff of The Claremont Colleges.]

    Political Science Abstracts: Citations with table of contents from more than 300 journals worldwide in political science and government. [1984- present; updated 3 times per year. This resource is available only to users at the Claremont Colleges or connecting to a Claremont Colleges proxy server or modem pool.]

    Wilson Social Sciences Abstracts: Contains journal citations in anthropology, economics, ethnic studies, feminist studies, geography, human services, international relations, law & criminology, police science, political science, psychology, sociology, population studies, public administration, public health, social work, urban studies, and related social science subjects. Indexes over 250 English-language journals.[Ovid: 1983 - present; updated quarterly. This resource is available outside the Libraries only to students, faculty and staff of The Claremont Colleges.]

    LexisNexis Academic (formerly Academic Universe): Web version of Lexis-Nexis. Contains the full text of over 3000 publications covering news, business, trade, law, legislation, and regulation in the U.S. and worldwide for selected areas. Provides access to full text law journal articles, legal codes, judge's decisions, SEC filings, and news stories. [World Wide Web. This resource is available only to users on the Claremont Colleges Network.     LexisNexis Congressional (formerly Congressional Universe): Source for tracking Congressional hearings and legislation. [World Wide Web. This resource is available only to users at the Claremont Colleges or connecting to a Claremont Colleges modem pool.]

    Library of Congress: LOCIS (Library of Congress Information System) provides access to the Library of Congress catalog, information on copyright, federal legislation, and other resources through the Library of Congress gateway. [World Wide Web.]

    STAT-USA: Contains economic news and data and statistical information. [World Wide Web. This resource is available only in the Honnold/Mudd search center.]

    Thomas: The official Congressional web page for searchable legislative information. Contains the Congressional Record from 1991, Congressional bills and votes from 1989, committee reports and information, and historical documents. [World Wide Web.]

    Access UN (United Nations Documents Index) : Indexes U.N. and non-U.N. materials held at the Dag Hammarskjold Library in New York and the Library of the United Nations Office in Geneva and contains the full text of UN resolutions, voting records and citations to speeches and agendas. [This resource is available only to users within the Libraries.]

    United Nations Documents: Index to documents and publications. Includes full-text of U.N.Resolutions and Decisions as well as voting records. [World Wide Web. This resource is available only to users on the Claremont Colleges Network.]

    World News Connection: Contains the Foreign Broadcast Information Service (FBIS), English language translations of     foreign news service articles, translations of foreign speeches and other news items of interest to researchers. It is searchable by keywords and/or region. [World Wide Web. This resource is available only in the Honnold/Mudd search center.]


    Statistical Databases

    National Trade Data Bank: Contains the most current and reliable information about industries and countries worldwide as well as international trade and export promotion information. Includes foreign trade statistics by commodity and country, international market research reports, how-to guides, international investment data, foreign exchange rates, and exports by state. [Honnold/Mudd Reference. updated monthly. Ask staff for this resource.]

    STAT-USA: Contains economic news and data and statistical information. [World Wide Web. This resource is available only in the Honnold/Mudd search center.]

    Statistical Universe: Provides comprehensive access to U.S. statistical information. [World Wide Web. This resource is available only to users on The Claremont Colleges network.]

    World Development Indicators: Presents 600 data elements, organized in six sections: overview, people, environment, economy, states and markets, and global links. The tables cover all indicators for 148 country economies, with basic indicators for a further 62 economies. This CD compiles data from several World Bank titles, including Economic Timeseries Tables, Social Indicators Datasheets, World Bank Atlas, Population Projection Tables, and Country At-a-Glance Tables. Data can be searched, downloaded and cross-tabulated. [Previous versions, 2001 2001 and 2000, 2000, still available in the search centers of the Libraries only. Note: some 2000 version indicators are not available in the 2001 version.]
