(Coverage dates vary by publication; most begin post-1980. This resource is available outside the Libraries only to students, faculty and staff of The Claremont Colleges.) Lexis-Nexis provides full text access to Annual Reports and 10-K's.


To Search Specific Databases for Information on Companies

To search for directory, general information articles and investment reports on a company

General Businessfile on InfoTrac Searchbank (1995-present. This resource is available outside the Libraries only to students, faculty and staff of The Claremont Colleges.)
Indexes both trade publications and academic journals in business, contains some full text articles.  The Investext segment of the database is comprised of selected full text company and industry investment reports written by analysts from  brokerage houses.

To Search for a Summary of Performance, Financial and Investment Information

Valueline Investment Survey Online   Valueline is an online version of the Valueline Investment Survey in paper. This resource provides graphs and charts of financial information on companies that sell stock. Includes many small market capitalization stocks. This database is available only in the search center of the Honnold/Mudd library where the password can be obtained from the librarian at the reference desk.
 

  • Valueline Investment Survey (Loose-leaf - Kept at Honnold/Mudd Information Desk - updates online)
     
  • The Value Line Investment Survey (At Honnold-Mudd Information Desk) Provides graphs and charts of financial information on companies that sell stock.

  • The Value Line Investment Survey Expanded Edition (At Honnold-Mudd Information Desk) Provides graphs and charts of financial information on companies that sell stock. Includes many small market capitalization stocks.

  • To find a particular company:

    Use the index at the front of the loose-leaf notebook. Look up "Motorola" alphabetically, and note the section (section 7).
    Find section 7 in the loose-leaf notebook: note the page number for "Motorola" and turn to the section.

    Look at the chart to note stock performance over a time period.

    For instructions on how to read "Value Line Investment Survey" there is a guide to using the Value Line Investment Survey called: "How to Invest in Common Stocks: The Complete Guide to Using the Value Line Investment Survey" and is a light blue notebook shelved next to the black Value Line Investment Survey loose-leaf volumes at the Information Desk.
